FAQ

What is a figurine?

A figurine is a tiny figure who can inhabit the town in Day Of The Figurines. They are given names and personalities by visitors to the work and then they are introduced into the game.

How do I play?

Come to either Laban or Blast Theory studio to enrol into the game, where you create your own figurine and place it in the model city. After setting your figurine in motion, participation involves receiving and sending a number of texts each day.

Can I play without visiting the board in London?

No. It is crucial to go Laban - Monday 25th July to Friday 29th July or Blast Theory studio - Saturday 30th July to Thursday 18th August, to make your figurine and look at the town in Day Of The Figurines.

Can I play from abroad or elsewhere in the UK?

Firstly you have to visit either Laban or Blast Theory studio to make your figurine - this takes just a few minutes to do. Then once you leave the space you can play from anywhere in the world using your mobile phone.

How long does the game last?

The game lasts for 24 days

Do I have to reply to every message?

Not at all, it is up to you.

What do I do if I get too many messages?

Stop replying to text messages and they will naturally decrease in number until you receive just a few a day. To increase the number of texts you are receiving just start replying to incoming texts more often and the number will naturally increase.

What happens if I don't reply?

The texts decrease in number.

What do I do if I don't want to chat with someone I meet?

You can just ignore them, it's totally up to you.

How much do the text messages cost for me to send?

Texts you receive, sent by the game are free and texts you send will be at the standard rate of your particular mobile phone contract.

Is the town a particular place?

No. This town is a fictional place, it does not exist really. But it reminds us of some places we know well and some of the buildings in the town are from these places.

How many people can play?

In this test version up to 100 people can play. When it is premiered as a finished work it is conceived that up to 1000 will be able to play.

When does Day Of The Figurines end?

August 18th

When will the finished version of Day Of The Figurines be launched?

Later this year or early spring next year.
